CALHOUN, GA, August 20, 2005—Business is booming for
Wools of New Zealand Brand partner, Glen Eden Wool Carpet,
with sales in June reported to be the highest in the
company’s history. New positions have been created to keep up
with demand, resulting in several promotions and a new addition to
the staff.
Those promoted from within
include Amanda Abercrombie, the new Broadloom Production Manager.
Abercrombie previously worked in customer service and replaces Bob
VanOrder who accepted a position at J. Mish. Laura Ray, also
promoted from customer service, is the Custom Production Manager.
In this newly created position, Ray will oversee Glen Eden’s
custom department, handling the production of made-to-order carpets
manufactured in-house at the company’s facility in Calhoun,
GA.
New to the company is Pam
Hudson who was hired for the new position of Hand-Tufted Project
Manager. Prior to Glen Eden, Hudson worked in customer service at
Stanton Carpets. Hudson will manage Glen Eden’s growing
hand-tufted wool business, which involves the production of rugs
that are custom sized, colored and designed according to the
buyer’s specifications.
“This is an exciting
time for us,” says Stewart Hay, president of Glen Eden.
“Our wool business is growing in all directions and we are
taking full advantage of the success. With our in-house dying and custom departments fully established,
retailers are realizing how easy we make it to meet the unique
tastes of their customers. Our new production and project managers
will keep quality high and turn-around quick while enabling us to
take on more business.”
